Let’s continue where we left off with «HOW TO FIX YOUR FOLLOW-UP.»

The one thing you need to do right now is to Show Up More. To do this most effectively, you’ll need a direct marketing system. All wealth in America comes from systems. If you want proof, just take a look at the Ford Motor Company. They were first to come up with the assembly line and franchised dealerships in their industry.

The follow-up system is where the giant opportunity is because most businesses do little or no follow-up whatsoever. Response develops through your follow-up system. Whatever your response from a single attempt, it tends to as much as double with the second and third follow-up attempts, and double again with the fourth through whatever follow-up steps you take. Once you understand the virtues of this kind of system, develop it and get it working the quicker you’ll reap the benefits.

Now all that talk about setting up a follow-up system sounds great, but why don’t very many businesses do this? There are three dominant reasons the vast majority of businesses shown this systematic approach fail to develop it for their own business.

1. It’s too hard or it’s too time consuming. It’s work to get it built, tested and working for you successfully.
2. It’s Intricate! A multifaceted marketing system is sustainable and most competitors are too lazy and simple-minded to copy it, even if it is successful.
3. It’s hard to do it manually.

Just as a reminder, I have gathered this information for you while attending the half-day conference with Dan Kennedy (Godfather of Info-Marketing) in August 2008. His direct marketing systems show us how a system directly reaches out to, connects with and brings the desired prospective customer or client to you. His systems also give insight on how to shorten the sales cycle.

You don’t give them sufficient reasons to buy now. You must give them sufficient reasons to buy now. There is a matter of insufficient trust. You must make yourself more trustful. More contacts make them know you better. So, do lots of contacts.

Now let’s talk about closing percentages. You want to take them from 20% to 80%. Here is a sequence that is used quite successfully in Dan Kennedy’s direct marketing systems. You want to extend an invitation designed for a specific audience via a variety of means and media. That could be print advertising, banner advertising at others websites, buying traffic for your website, direct mail to compiled mailing lists or email to opt-in lists. Regardless of means or media, in every place, the same invitation is extended. It is kept simple and clean. It is not an attempt to sell your products or services at all. It’s an invitation for the recipient to request and be provided something of relevance, interest and value to him, free of charge. The more appealing and specifically relevant the item offered, the better the response. That is step one, lead generation. Once you have captured their information, a series of provocative follow-up steps occur, from you, the marketer, to the prospective customer or client. You may treat them all the same and assign them all the same Follow-Up Communications Program. They will all get a series or sequence of multi-media follow-up communications, all designed to persuade them to take one next step. Regardless of the action taken, everything moves the prospects toward this one next step. This is where a follow-up system may divide up the prospects to begin with and send different communications to different groups.

Every business should have an «Alarm Bell» to be included with your follow-up system. You need to know where your customer is and why he isn’t back. You’ll want to have alarm bells for your customers. You’ll want to have more follow-up during campaigns, much more and better «Relationship Marketing» and follow-up day to day.

A false belief many do follow: «get em now or they’re gone forever». With proper follow-up you will not fall for this lie and you can prove it to yourself in a short period of time using a follow-up system.

Most of us are aware of the significance of the laser toners in a printer. More or less a laser toner is the key part in any laser printer. With invent of the laser printer, we can get high quality prints in a blink of an eye and that too in a very cost effective manner. The quality of the prints depends on the quality of the laser toner, as a laser toner is actually the ink for laser printers. The laser toner is an extremely fine synthetic powder packed into a cartridge. This cartridge is then inserted into your laser printer according to the manufacturer’s instructions. And this is where the role of a laser toner comes into picture.

Let us understand in short the role of a laser toner as soon as a page is inserted in the printer. There are a few steps in printing a page with the help of a laser toner:

• In the first step, printer receives an image to be printed from your computer.

• The lasers project the image onto an electromagnetic drum inside the laser printer.

• According to the image, the drum is charged positively and negatively, and at varying levels of charge.

• The drum in turn attracts ink from the toner in the cartridge according to the charges the colors are attracted to.

• The drum rolls the image onto a page of paper, the page goes through a heating device to melt or burn the color onto the page, and the page is ejected.

This is when laser toner is used in the laser printer. Most of the toners are designed to print a few thousand pages before needing to be replaced. Similarly, the drum also wears out from all the positive and negative charges it gives off, and needs to be replaced every 10,000 – 30,000 pages. Some printers are made with cartridge-and-drum replacement units in mind, while other printers are designed to separate the cartridge and drum. This way, when the cartridge runs out of toner, you don’t have to replace the longer lasting drum with it. This saves you money.

There is a huge ongoing debate on the use of compatible laser toners. They are widely used besides the printer companies regular warnings on the illegal aspects and the harms they can cause to the printer. However, besides such warnings, the compatible laser toners are now a days common forcing the companies to change their stance and to launch economically priced laser toners. Most manufacturers, and some third-party distributors, will give you money or discounts in exchange for your old laser toner cartridges. They in turn replace the guts of the cartridge, refill it with toner, and resell it at a big discount.

If you own a Brother printer or copy machine there are many good reasons why you should also use original Brother toner cartridges in your printer. By the same token, there are many reasons why you should avoid using compatible Brother toners, refurbished Brother toner or try to refill your own cartridge. If cost is an issue, you may find it better serves you and your home or business to work out ways to conserve on the amount of printing you do, rather than trying to save money by using compatible toner in your cartridges. The problem with many refurbished cartridges is that while the toner inside the cartridge itself is changed, usually the individual parts such as rollers and small gears are not changed and they are often quite worn to the point that they no longer perform well at all.

At worst, using worn cartridge parts inside your printer could do some damage. At best, it can cause a lot of delay and frustration when you install your refurbished cartridge and it does not work, and thus has to be replaced. This is never a problem when you purchase original Brother toners. Another consideration is that not all toner is the same composition. Brother toner is made specifically to use with the specified models of Brother printers and has the right combination of toner and developer to help it to run smoothly and produce optimum print copies — which is especially important if you are using these prints and toners for something like a corporation or business.

Using an original cartridge will also help to protect the Brother drum inside your printer. Incidentally, to help offset costs, Brother printers have Brother drums, which means you can extend the life of your printer for quite some time. As with the cartridges though, if you do need to replace your drum it is important to use an original drum, not a refurbished or compatible model. One of the best ways to conserve on the amount of money spent on toner cartridges is to do the bulk of your printing on draft mode, which can usually be accessed through the printer properties.

This is usually sufficient for most documents and pages printed. In fact, you can make printing in draft mode your default and that will help you to avoid ‘accidentally’ printing out a long document in a higher quality. Also, proofread and correct any documents before you go ahead and print. Most word processing programs have spelling and grammar checking options, so be sure to use them as a lot of paper and toner can be wasted by printing unedited work and then having to reprint again. If you need to print out something for informational purposes, try to only print the section that contains the instructions or information you need, rather than printing an entire document.

Above all, in order to lengthen the life of your Brother printer, use original Brother toner cartridges and an original Brother drum. This is probably one of the best ways to ensure that your printer will not only last you a long time, but also give optimum printing results.
