How future of oil

How Future of Oil

In recent days oil market has witnessed surge in global oil price. Crude oil went to a two-month high on concern that U.S. refiners will fail to produce enough gasoline to keep up with peak demand this summer.
Short fall in supply of oil from Nigeria and uncertainty on Iranian nuclear issues is already keeping buyers of oil nervous. Delivery in May future hit $68 per barrel, a 20 pct jump from last years $56.5 per barrel, only $2.85 from August 2005 high’s of $70.85.
Since last 3 years oil market has been witnessing a substantial rise in the average price of oil. Last week number of oil analyst and agencies have one again raised their 2006 average forecast price to $63.
US Energy department Data reported that refineries are operating around 86 pct of their capacity. Analyst estimates that during same period last year, plants utilised 94 percent of their capacity. Not to forget that February, March & April are also crucial as all the maintenance work is done during these months.
There is difference of opinion as experts differ on whether the current soaring oil demand will outstrip the current supplies, and how quickly.
But for oil watchers, what could be more concerning is that if the current surging demand from China and India persists then Saudi Arabia, which has a known 25% global oil reserve, may see its oil reserves dwindle in twenty years time. Many leading oil analyst says Saudi Arabia is believed to be forced to over supply http://www.100earningtips.com
The country has the ability to produce 15 million barrels per day. Middle Eastern Oil analyst is of view that if Saudi Arabia produces 15 mbp, the lifespan of Saudi Arabia’s proven oil reserve of 260 billion barrel, 100 billion has already been used and therefore the reserves can be used in our lifetimes.
Meanwhile, last year’s impact of five major hurricane hitting United States of America still has the biting effect on the oil industry. Coastal oil refineries are still fighting to deliver maximum production.
Developing oil sands or natural gas-based diesel fuel is slower and more expensive proposition, though researchers are making every effort to produce an alternate to counter oil price.
US President George W Bush in his one of his State Union address in February, called for intense effort to develop more efficient fuel sources. The US Energy Department and the Agriculture Department spend tens of millions of dollars every year on biomass-based energy research and development. This is in addition to the billions of dollars. More than $4 billion was spent in 2004.The U.S. provides in subsidies for the production of corn, from which most domestically produce ethanol is derived.
Considering how ethanol is produced, corn or sugarcane is grown, harvested and delivered to an ethanol plant. Growing and harvesting the corn and heating the reheating the fermented corn of sugarcane to produce ethanol of a high quality to replace some of the gasoline in car requires enormous amount of energy.
According to researchers, it was found that it takes 30 pct more energy to top make ethanol from corn. Wood biomass takes 55 pct more energy. Swiss grass takes about 50 pct. Ethanol is just highly uneconomical product in the West, as compared in developing countries, also due to low labour wages. It also contributes to air pollution. Cars running on gasoline containing ethanol produce more air pollution than cars running gasoline alone.
Another research work on Pig manure is underway. One pig produces 10 pounds of manure to yield up to 21 gallon of crude oil. Hence, it is estimated manure from America’s 60 million pigs could produce 50 million barrels of oil a year. Framers can earn $10 per pig from manure.
There are all very expensive propositions. The researchers would continue to search for oil alternate, but substitute for oil may still be far away. With current pace of global growth, thirst for economic boom and demand incurring due to population explosion is unending.
I have very few reasons to believe that oil prices will fall to USD 50 per barrel and would rather like to argue that we would continue to see higher oil price trend. Without which search for new oil find could not be met due to high exploration cost. Oil price could also be kept high intentionally, to give investors incentive to explore oil and to developed alternate fuel find which requires billions of Dollars. With growing annual demand for 2 million barrel per day, most of it coming from Asia, one single event that disrupts oil production could send prices sky rocketing. Current demand for global oil is 84 million barrel per day. I expect the oil to trade in a USD 75-80 range in a short span of time. Not long ago talking of oil price averaging USD 60 was a sin. So let us get prepared for the next coming big move

How to select the best wholesale supplier

How to Select the Best Wholesale Supplier

Copyright (c) 2009 Steven Holmes

As a retailer I’m often approached by new wholesale, hoping to wrestle my custom away from my existing suppliers. Promises of huge discounts, ever-changing product ranges and a far superior level of service to the one provided by my long-standing wholesaler. The problem is that in the early days of my retail career, when margins were the only thing I cared about, I was seduced by these promises and changed my supplier on a number of occasions, invariably to be disappointed each time. This taught me a valuable lesson — once you’ve found a reliable supplier who provides you with the correct goods, on time, and with a level of customer service that isn’t offensive, stick with them unless you’re absolutely certain that someone can do better.

Of course the number of wholesalers you have to choose from varies greatly from product to product so you may have your mind made up for you. If not though, the key considerations you should bare in mind are as follows:

Reputation — Don’t be afraid to ask other people, even if they are the competition. Try to get the opinion of at least one person who has worked with the supplier before. If the reaction is positive then at least you have a first-hand referral. If a supplier has a reputation for being bad just avoid them. Your shop’s success relies on a continuous flow of stock, so anything that gets in the way of this could be damaging. It’s vert easy to be tempted into using a supplier with a bad reputation because they have the lowest prices. You will regret it!

Language — The way the retail industry is now, a huge number of wholesalers/suppliers are based overseas. Ensure that any overseas supplier you use has a member of staff who is a fluent speaker of your language, unless you happen to be a fluent speaker of there’s. It is vitally important that you can communicate clearly with your suppliers

Payment Terms — Choose a supplier whose payment terms fit with the finances of your business. Very few suppliers these days will ask for the full amount up front but if they do, and to do so would stretch you financially, walk away. Instead choose a wholesaler who operates a sale-or-return policy or a credit policy. This will give you enough time to generate the funds needed to pay for the stock, without putting your business at risk.

Product Range — Differentiation is absolutely critical in retail. If you sell products that are different to the competition then you can sell them at a higher price because of exclusivity. If your products are the same as everyone else’s then the shop with the cheapest prices will get the sale. If possible, find a wholesaler who offers a wide range of original products that are exclusive to them only. For example, if you’re in the market for a wholesale costume jewellery or wholesale fashion jewellery supplier, you will probably find that a number of wholesalers in India or the Far East stock exactly the same products. In this situation it would be advisable to go direct to the manufacturers.

Price — Of course price is an important element. If you can’t make a decent margin on the products you sell, your business will fail. The reason, however, that I have left price til last is because, in my opinion, it shouldn’t be your primary focus.

Inspirational plumber aims to encourage others

Inspirational Plumber Aims to Encourage Others

A female plumber is hoping her success at a national awards show will encourage more women to take plumbing courses.

Natasha McDonald was honoured as England’s top learner at the National Vocational Qualifications awards this June after she was nominated by her tutors due to her inspiring qualities.

Ms McDonald’s tutors at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London put her name forward for the award after they were impressed by the way she has acted as a role model for other women looking to enter the construction industry.

The London plumber was praised for her inspirational talks at job fairs in which she encouraged prospective students to take plumbing courses due to the rewarding nature of working in the construction sector.

Ms McDonald, who works for Homes for Haringey, revealed that she was happy to receive the prestigious award because she enjoyed great job satisfaction while working as a plumber.

She said: «It was a shock to be announced overall winner, I’m delighted. I love plumbing and fixing blockages in people’s homes.»

«I’ve studied and work hard so it is really rewarding to get recognised for the work I do. I am also passionate about encouraging other women to enter the construction industry.

Natasha’s achievement will hopefully demonstrate to women that a female can succeed in the stereotypically male dominated construction industry.

«I have been to job fairs on behalf of Homes for Haringey and spoken at Haringey’s International Women’s Day. This has helped me to connect with females who are thinking of a career in construction and offer my advice,» she added.

Lord Baker of Dorking and television personality Arlene Phillips were on hand to present Ms McDonald with a certificate of recognition and a plaque at the ceremony at Royal Horticulture Halls in London.

The annual event celebrates the successes of vocational students from around the country with the VQ Learner of the Year Awards.

Two regional winners from England, one aged under 24 and one aged 25 and over were presented with the top award.

People wishing to follow in Ms McDonald’s footsteps should be aware that the required foundation plumbing courses for beginners is the City & Guilds NVQ 6129 level 2, which allows progression onto the NVQ level 3.

It is essential for potential plumbers to complete both these plumbing courses in order to become fully qualified and work within the industry.

Students should be wary of crash plumbing courses which promise to teach the skills to become a fully qualified plumber in a short period of time.

It is no coincidence that in times of business and economic hardship, business owners turn to outsourcing of executive consultants to service their business demand.

Even though most business owners are content to circle their wagons in times of a credit crisis, some of the more proactive entrepreneurial business owners tap into the expertise of executive consultants to drive them out of crisis.

To service business demand during an economic downturn, one has to consider the race for the business growth and expansion finishing line does not have many participants.

This means there are many opportunities waiting to be grabbed by canny business owners. Sadly many executive consultants talk the talk, but in reality very few can walk the walk when hired to service business demand.

Many executive consultants are simply not trained or qualified to conduct strategies designed to grow businesses.

Part of any business owners due diligence should be to identify if their intended executive consultants are actually qualified and current to pass on their business skills. This is often a hurdle that many business owners struggle to scale.

One of the very best indications that executive consultants have indeed graduated from a professional business training programme is to ask if they are an accredited associate of the institute for independent business or the IIB as it is known in business circles. Another bonus for business owners utilising the outsourced consultancy services of IIB executive consultants is that they maintain high levels of continuous professional development CPD by attending monthly regional institute for independent business international meetings and quarterly IIB national CPD.
